Finally got another 2 rolls of film developed.

The 25-min cable car ride to the Ngong Ping village. It gets really really high. 2nd highest peak in HK (i think).

Once there, the main attraction's the Big Buddha.

Here's how a typical HK MTR platform looks like. Yes that's Hongzuo. And this shot was taken when we went Macau...

This was during Mid Autumn Festival. We popped by Victoria Park. To be honest, I expected it to be like the TVB dramas, where families sit on the grass and devour mooncake after mooncake.

But it was like one big carnival. Perhaps we went to the wrong side of the park, or even the wrong park.

This is in Tsuen Wan, IMO one of the more beautiful places in HK. It overlooks Tsing Yi (think atas expat area). and a very nice and serene place for a lazy afternoon.

The 2010 Michelin Guide for Hong Kong/Macau, which we (HZ and I) got in a press conference. Been my food bible since. We tried visiting the cheapest 1-Michelin star restaurant in the world (ie less than S$10 for a meal). We went 1.5hours before the place closed and they stopped accepting customers already. I vow to make another trip down and dine there!

SUAY TO THE MAX!

Ok. This post is going to be image heavy and it shall start on a not so happy episode of my life but nonetheless, it was quite a dramatic day... hahaha! Of course I gotta blog about it.

Alrights alrights. So everyone's been asking if I'm ok or if i'm dying or if I can walk. Answer is Yes I can. Even after being stung by a Portuguese Mano!war.

The blue colour was really pretty. Even in my state of panic, I noticed. :)

After abit of research, I realise, its not EXACTLY a jellyfish. More like some species similar to it. And its a really beautiful blue in colour thing although yes, its sting does hurt like hell. :(

Let me tell you about all that drama.

So we were at Lanikai beach (yes I must say it is THE MOST BEAUTIFUL beach I've ever been to in the world. EVER. So far anyways.) with Ping and Eun and I decided to head over to the water and dip ourselves in the translucent, greenish blue water that was just absolutely beautiful but FRIGGIN icy cold. Imagine waking up to a sight like this each day. Your private beach.

The houses around there cost 4-5 million bucks. I can see why....

So anyways, after dipping in we decided to lay flat on our tummies at shoreline to just talk and let the cooling water seeping around us. *blah blah blah* and all of a sudden this sharp pain gripped my leg. Felt like some sort of needle just piercing my shin and my calf getting a whipping.

*SCREAMED LIKE HELL* and turned around and started yanking out the stuff stuck on my leg. It was like those korean people eating the squid and its tentacles just stuck to you. And not knowing it was dangerous I used my fingers cos I was in a state of panic. (Thank God I didnt get secondary stings on my fingers) and SPRINTED all the way back to Ping, who started washing the sting with water. Thank goodness the pain subsided and the swelling started but disappeared after awhile.

This is my wonder sting. Swelling. But its gone now. :) *click for clearer view*

Went over to Kailua Beach Park after to get the lifeguard to spray vinegar solution thingy on the thing. Told me it wasn't dangerous and that it was common in the area. So I'm alright! No fever or pain or vomiting or anything. Just that there's this super UGLY red line on my shin now. I hope it doesnt scar me for life! :(

Ok but other than that, we had a really awesome day! The weather was just absolutely perfect and Ping was a great host in showing us the entire windward side with all the tiny islands and just absolutely amazing houses. If only I had that amount of moneyyy... Sighhhhh...

Thanksgiving & Black Friday

Realised that I didnt blog much after Thanksgiving. haha! Maybe it's cos I was just too busy packing away all the shopping that I had no time to blog about it. hehe!

So went over to Jamie's house for thanksgiving where her husband cooked a really nice turkey meal. Delish! And we just sat there for a time of fellowship and movie watching. LOVE ACTUALLY! :) Oh and of course discuss our plans for black friday.

For those who have no clue what black friday is... its basically a HUGEEEEE sale that happens throughout the US starting the day after thanksgiving. Malls open at 6am. Certain big names like MACY's and Old navy opening their stalls at 3am. Basically, its shopping MADNESS!

So Eun, Jamie and I met at the mall at 6.20am. And OMGoodness gracious me. We were 'late'. The queue for our vice, Victoria Secret already had lines that were SNAKING out of the shop. It was about 100m away from the shop ok.

Look, The shop can't even be seen, but its past lego. lol!

Ended up buying massive bags of stuff for OTHER people. hahaha! And shopped for a whopping 12 hours!!! Believe it or not, but I have broken my record and my wallet. hahahaha!

So! Abit late of an update but I kept forgetting to update. So here's the latest in on Hawaii....

WE WENT SURFIN'!

haha, ok. So some of you might have seen the news on our statuses already. But for those who haven't. Yes, this is to let you know that Eun and I have turned into official Hawaiian Surfer babes.lol!

How was the experience like? Well, It was definitely much easier than what Eunice and I actually envisioned it out to be (and we're not bragging). Prior to stepping into the water, Eun and I were quite apprehensive as to how it was going to turn out. If we would be able to stand on the board and not drown or something.

But we hired an instructor and had a land lesson for like 5 mins and he threw us into the water ok! haha. But it was quite shallow and the waves weren't THAT big so it was still ok. Paddled out to the middle before catching the waves. HECK! It was DARN TIRING paddling out! I mean catching the waves and all is just the most fantastic feeling ever. (you feel like you're on top of the world as the board picks up speed) but the longer you stay on the board means the more you gotta paddle back after sitting back down on the board.

So its like 3 minutes of arm work out for 20 seconds of fun. hahaha! Guess that's why all the dudes and babes have such toned and defined arms.

We both managed to stand up by the 2nd wave and after that didn't have that much of a problem balancing. So I must say that we did pretty well! haha. But after that, we couldn't stretch our arms out that properly and Eunice just totally flopped down on the board paddling back halfway because she got too tired. hahaha! So I guess, it's not something that we'll be doing every weekend cos it's just wayyy too tiring. hahaha! And we'll probably have very big arms when we get back.

LANTERN FESTIVAL: LOY KRATHONG

It's the lantern festival, or Loy Krathong here in Thailand, something like our zhongqiujie back home. Though not a public holiday (boo), it's still quite a huge thing in Thailand. People buy floating lanterns like those on top, usually snip some hair or fingernails and place it with some money into the lantern before lighting, saying a prayer and letting it float off into the river. It's suppose to help them cleanse their sins, if I'm not wrong.

So my Thai colleagues were horrified when they learnt that I was intending to head down the the Grand Palace area on Loy Krathong night cause, well, if you have ever seen Chinatown on Chinese New Year's eve, that's what it's like.

Other than that, the Thais also take the chance to light floating lanterns, illegal fireworks, etc. It's quite a big thing here.

Hawaiii Halloween 2009!

Okay so we walk down the streets of Waikiki on Halloween night, almost everyone was dressed up and it was sooo packed! (Though as compared to Esplanade on fireworks night, this is nothing) But yeah, it was major fun! We were all taking hell lot of pictures cos the costumes were stunning! Some of them even hand-made their costumes and boy, were they creative!

In Singapore, I realised that even those who dress up as angels and fairies have blood smeared all over their pretty clothes, and scars drawn on their beautiful faces. Why does Halloween have to be about blood and disfigured faces?

If there's one thing we've learnt about this supposedly ghostly occasion, is that Halloween's not all about ghosts, monsters and scaring people. No doubt there were a couple of freaky costumes, there were many cute, funny and sweet-looking ones too!

LONG WEEKEND: SUKHOTHAI

WELCOME TO SUKHOTHAI!

looks like someone plucked you out and threw you into a time machine. friday was chulalongkorn day, which is a public holiday in thailand, so i took an 8 hour bus ride north to sukhothai for a holiday.

well the ass-numbing ride was definitely worth it. sukhothai was apparently "first" capital of thailand, so there's a huge area west from "new sukhothai" (the modern sukhothai city) called "old sukhothai", which is a huggggge historical park where the royal palace was.

for those who has been to the angkor wat, it's something like the angkor archeological park, minus the annoying child touts and busloads of tourists. the whole place was just freaking beautiful and serene.

enough of my yapping i'll just spam you with photo after photo until your computer browser hangs and crashes and you'll curse me for the remainder of your internship

Things have been pretty crazy on the work front this past week. attended a launch with Equal at McCafe where TVB star Moses Chan came! I have no idea who he was though and while translating a media invite, that by the way was in TRADITIONAL CHINESE, I had to get Ching and Shermaine to help me out! So yeah, that was kind of cool!

Anyway, since getting here I've pretty much been on a soy milk (Dao Jueng in Canto) binge because honestly, SOY MILK HERE IS ABSOLUTELY KICK ASS.

Firstly, there's the homemade kind that's so smooth and absolutely delicious. (DAMN MASSIVE WOMG. next to my packet of tissue for comparison)

and then there are the Vita ones! (hello pretty gel extensions!)

Ok. So we haven't exactly been updating much from over here, not due to the time difference, but simply because... we kinda went island hopping and got lazy when we came back. hahaha! But but, we will start uploading pictures of maui once we actually get them into our computer. hehe!

For now, here is just something REALLY interesting that Eunice and I encountered... The Bus stop.

Yeah right. So like what's so odd about a bus stop right?! Well. It's not exactly the bus stop that is odd. It's the people that take the bus from there.

Even their seats are facing left. So they're sideways to the road?!?!?! lol.

Notice carefully the direction of which everyone stands and sits. Weirdly enough, the road is in front, but everyone is facing left. hahahahahahaha! DAM WEIRD!

Eunice and I got to the stop and we were like... Eh? Why so weird ah! Cos we were the only jokers facing front. Like seriously... THE ONLY ONES. lol.

Oh and to counter Joel's CCB sign....

And And And... WE FINALLY SATISFIED OUR CHICKEN RICE CRAVINGGGGG!!! hehe!

Ok so it's not exactly the cheapest chicken rice in the world, costing us USD8 bucks. But hey! Beggars can't be choosers so we gotta settle with what we got yeah! :)

It was pretty good though and the portion was HUGE. (like what's new right! lol.) Found it in Chinatown with our Singaporean colleague who brought us around. :D

Doesn't this just look like home? Ok maybe those in HK and Thailand will say, Ah common sight, but hey! it's a rare thing to see people selling buckets and pails here, on the street some more! :)) Home sweet home.. ahh. :D

Yep this place is famous for its egg tarts (HK$7 / S$1.30). There are 2 types of egg tarts in HK -- the flaky pastry tart and the short tart. Honolulu's egg tarts' famous for the former. It's said that there are 192 layers in the flaky crust, and trust me..it's gooood. Haven't taken a picture of it just so I'll go back for more. But it is pricey, considering how common it is to find tarts going for HK$2.50 (S$0.45)

These...鸡蛋仔 (eggettes?) are everywhere. But you know you've found THE stall when it's got photos of celebs eating it + news articles pasted all over. It's really crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. The lacklustre versions usually have too much air inside, but this is chewy inside. But the prices keep escalating. One of the articles pasted at the stall said each was HK$10 (S$1.70). A food blog earlier this year mentioned that it's HK$11. Past two days? HK$12 (S$2.10). But hey, it's worth it.

Was too full on both occasions to try Wow! Burger. But I don't think it'll be long before I make my way back to Wan Chai.

HZ here. I'm damn busy with work, but just gotten a breather. So here's a few fun facts again.

- There are no direct planes from China to Taiwan and vice versa (they never got along, duh). If businessmen from both countries want to travel to either side, they need to make a transit in Hong Kong. That in itself, is a +1 to HK as a port.

- Big Macs in HK are technically the cheapest in the whole world. Link to evidence here, courtesy of Jrrl.

Last Thursday, the boys and I went down to Macau for the National Day break!

As usual, everyone was late. AHEM*jartan*AHEM.

We headed to the Macau Ferry Terminal at Sheung Wan and purchased our return tickets back (HK$145 + HK$170 there and back respectively) where we proceeded to miss the earlier ferry we got put on.

Act cute lorh sommmmeeboooddyyy.

All of us fell asleep on the hour long ferry ride with some of us nursing sore necks from whiplash. The damned thing was seriously rocky. Fun shit.

YAY MACAU.

We finally got there and were prompty accosted by some tour guy who was trying to convince us to rent a car, but we chose not to because we're poor underpaid interns. So taxi it was!

Besides the ferry, many people choose to fly to Macau by helicopter from HK for only HKD$1500 for a 15 minute ride.

The first thing one would notice about the place is that it's SERIOUSLY MAJORLY CONFUSED. One minute you're looking at built up hotels with crazy neon lighs, the next you're driving pass a squater. We were confused and lost most of the time really. hurhur.

The taxi dropped us off at Senado Square, a major tourist attraction and we decided to walk from there.

SINGAPORE: A second—year student from Singapore Polytechnic has died in a pub brawl in China’s Heilongjiang province. Three people have been arrested.

China’s Xinhua news agency reported on September 25 that 19—year—old Chia Ming Jin and nine other students had gone to a karaoke lounge in Jiamusi city.

They were in China on a six—week industry attachment that began on September 6.

The group had invited a girl, who also brought her friends along.

Xinhua said a fight later broke out and Chia was stabbed in the right leg.

He died of massive bleeding in hospital.

His body will be brought back to Singapore. Chia’s father and uncle are in Jiamusi to arrange for the return of the body.

Singapore Poly said it is counselling the students who were at the lounge.

But they and their parents said they want to remain in the city for the rest of the attachment.

Updates from HAWAI'I! :) [that's how it's spelt here! lol.]

So we're currently at work now waiting for our boss to bring us to COSCO to shop. hahaha! Oddly enough. lol. We too got surprised when we turned up with laptops and adaptors only to know that we're going shopping. hahaha!!

Our first week at work has been pretty awesome so far. For the first 2 days we ended up typing some list which was KINDA boring but now we've moved on to doing more events related stuffs. Currently we're in charge of volunteer recruitment for the event so we're going to be designing posters, putting up ads and doing ALOT of speech comm to uni kids. haha!

Best part about this whole conference is that it's party every night! WHOOTS! haha. Apparently the conference is pretty darn big and is going to be held at the Hilton with sponsors sponsoring themed parties every night. And we'll be in charge of organising it. Kinda like David Tutera don cha think? haha.

But I guess it's also gonna be alot of hardwork so don't just think its all fun and games ok! haha.

We've been cooking quite abit and eating out too. Managed to cook up some chicken terriyaki sambal thing and last night was AWESOME terriyaki salmon with cabbage and potatoes. haha!

Yesterday we celebrated their annual festival - Aloha Festival. It's something like our Chingay, where they would close the roads, and have different stages of performances along with food stalls.

Guess who was there...........

Wally Amos!!! The founder of Famous Amos cookies! He looked so cute wearing the apron saying, "We have a rule! You can't buy our cookies without trying them first!"

After walking up and down to see what's for dinner, we settled for this stall that sells Greek food. Chicken wrap and Gyros were damnnnn freaking good! Chicken wrap's like... chicken wrap. hahaha i mean, it's the normal wrap with chicken and veg inside, but this has cheese in it too. Gryros has a mixture of lamb and beef, tomato, onions, and tzatziki sauce, wrapped with pita bread. YUMMM.

The meat, unlike our Pasar Malam that serves with the layers of fats dangling out (inappropriate description, but nvm. hahaha), this look clean and neat. Haha!

And this is how they make onion rings. They put the whole potato (with the skin) into a major pencil sharpener-looking thing and shred the potato. Deep-fried and served with tartar sauce............ ohmmmm.

Took many videos of the performances, but blogger takes forever to upload them, so i gave up. hahaha. Kay, gonna get ready to move into the new apartment now. See yall!

A long long time ago, a volcano erupted, water went flowing into the crater and formed Hanauma Bay.

Oh we went snorkeling! Swam with the fishes that were so colourful and pretty. Not many pics though, cos they are in Cheryl's underwater cam.
Then we picnicked and attracted the hungry birds that kept flying towards our food. Noooooooo we aint's sharing!!!

Mini-Update: HZ's elavaturrrrr

Hey guys,

Just a teaser: my apartment's lift doors requires me to open them manually. If you're exiting the lift from the inside, you have to slide the wooden frame open, and then push the fire-proof door to get out.

It's very exciting because you get to open the doors when the lift is still moving, and doing this results in me being trapped in that rickety device.

And I live in a very typical HK area, neon-lighted signboards that scream into your eyes, and seedy people leaning against buildings that seem to have dirt smeared all over them deliberately. Soaking it all in from the beginning however, can be overwhelming.

And it's so odd because right below me is a mall that has everything and anything. Puts Mustafa Center to shame!

Fun fact: In Singapore, the shops you know as Guardian are called er. Guardian. Over here, it's called Mannings. In Mandarin you pronounce it Man4 Ning2. Why? I haven't found out.

Another fun fact: it's autumn really soon. Like two more days or a week away.

1. i've been working here for 2 weeks already but have no idea how to say please, thank you, or any numbers in thai. i do, however, know how to say "fried rice", "fried rice with chicken", "fried rice with pork", "fried rice with beef", "fried rice with crab", "fried rice with chicken and one sunny side egg", "beef hor fun", "beef hor fun extra sweet sauce", "chicken rice extra rice" etc. after all isn't that more important.

After reading the encounters of the HK peepos with mean salesgirls. We are really REALLY guilty for putting up the next few pictures and extremely guilty for having the time of our lives. But nonetheless, we have to update you guys on the wonders of this rainbow state. haha.

So here goes. (please don't kill us. Please please PLEASE!!)

It is officially that the both of us have managed to get our awesome apartment and the view from that place is just FANTASTIC! (Its the view from the earlier post) Don't drool when we tell you where we're living because it was totally unexpected! We accidentally walked into a Realtor and they gave us a home at the Ilkai Towers which is actually a condominium connected to a hotel and is right next to the Hilton Hawaiian Village and Ala Moana and THE BEACH! hahaha. Damn cool.

So whoever wants to come and bunk in, you're most welcome. hahaha! we have a sofa bed. lol.

We also went about finding where in the world our office actually is located and realised that it isn't too far off from where we stay so it isn't so bad. :) And the sun rises so early that at 6am, it looks like it's already 9am in SG. So I guess, Eun and I will be lucky and not be late for work! haha.

Anyways, we'll keep you posted with our more touristy little adventures later when we upload all the other million pictures that we have taken. Till then. Toodles! :)

oh. The only little thing I can complain about is that the people here all work really slowly. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. haha!

HZ in HK

So, I've arrived quite a while ago actually, about 4th day now.

Things I've learnt so far:

- HK people are either very friendly, or out to suck you dry. The friendly ones will do anything to help you and expect nothing in return: I was able to get a lot of basic information off the hotel bell-boy and technically nothing off the hotel receptionist.

If you thought Singapore was unfriendly, non-gracious, or unhelpful to strangers, wait until you try boarding anything, or asking for directions in HK.

- The people here move and do things at the speed of lightning, even the leisurely. I tried sight-seeing in Causeway Bay: even if you're just out and about to do nothing in particular, it is just normal to stroll at 130km/h. That's probably gear Two to them: I've yet to see the morning rush hours.

- It is their habit to observe you with judging eyes. As much as you can identify a China-born from a HK-born from a Singaporean, they can do the same too (only difference is if they can't tell that you're from Singapore, you're automatically a citizen from the Republic of China).

And it is not rude in their culture to stare as if you're a work of art/nature's biggest mistake. I still cannot get over this.

- Even if you're a foreigner, speaking Cantonese puts you at a huge advantage. I can't speak and can barely understand, and most HKers are too lazy to assist anyone that cannot speak their language. By 'most HKers', I also mean shop assistants. Once, I heard a bunch of Indians talking in fluent Cantonese. Whoa.

- There is no such thing as free wireless internet in HK.

You say Starbucks and Macdonalds? It costs, dude. It's pricey too, compared to an internet connection with the gazillions of phone companies in HK. What you pay for a 24 hour's worth of internet connection to a random location or a LAN shop costs as much as 30 day's worth of internet with a contract/plan.

- Currency is screwy. There are about four variations of 10-dollar notes I have in my wallet and three variations of 100-dollar notes, etc. None of them are legal tender: all of them are simply tenders issued by HK banks.

Apparently, the 2000, 2002 and 2003 notes from The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC) are not accepted in most places because it was heavily counterfeited.

- Housing is fexpensive. Your two-room flat in some lok-cock area (maybe Redhill or Toa Payoh) is considered mid-residential standard in HK. You can find this standard in HK's town area. If you're looking for a proper, habitable apartment like Sam's, be prepared to spend SGD 1k/month minimum.

- Travel is interesting. Quarry Bay to Causeway Bay (about five train stations) is SGD 1+. Quarry Bay to Northpoint (one train stop) is about SGD 0.80.

Tram rides (cabled, electrically-powered double-deckered bus that only goes in one way) are SGD 0.40 to any stop on the island.

Taxi from Quarry Bay to Taikoo (between train stations, also one stop away from each other) does not make the cab-meter jump at all if the traffic is clear.

Anyone who owns a private transport (car) is either damn rich or a showoff because HK's public transport is indeed seemingly the most efficient in Asia.

- I love typhoons.

- I concur with Sam that Ang mohs are aplenty. Occasional Korean and Japanese people are about. There are also quite a number of Phillippinoes here.

- Macdonalds taste better here than Macdonalds is in SG, but the difference is negligible.

- Giordano is having a 90% pre-autumn sale as I type this. I'm seriously considering getting those 50% off Converse shoes.

I went out a little, and here's a picture from my phone (I'll get better ones when I have time). The fabled harbour-view as seen from the mainland, facing the city-area (where Sam, Jarrel and I are living at). And no, my apartment is horribly tiny and nothing fantastic. I could call it a room and that's boasting too.

Good god. Took awhile but I'm finally here in Hong Kong!

Some things I've learnt in the last 24 hours.

1) Contrary to popular believe, the food here isn't really that cheap. A bowl of Wan Tan Meen is HKD$18 and Beef Brisket Noodles HKD$30. Pet-bottle sized fruit juice is HKD$20. ZOMG WHAT. Where is my 40cents Xiao Long Bao?
2) Strangely enough, food at Ikea's crazy cheap. 5 pieces of swedish meatballs? HKD$9.
3) It's super easy to keep spending on crap. ie. 17 pieces of tupperware for HKD$49.99. WHAT A STEAL.
4) Everyone eats alot of noodles. Every corner you turn you'll probably find yet another noodle house!
5) (Most) of the people here are sweet as halllle but speak uber duper fast.
6) When they do they sound uber uncouth and rude. BITCH, PLS.
7) Kiasuism in HK is worse than in Singapore. Watch them people run for seats on the Airport express!
8) There are SO MANY ANG MOH'S HERE that I actually feel like I'm in the wrong country.
9) Comfortable shoes will fureaking save your life.
10) Rent is crazy expensive. zomgahhhhh.
11) The lights here at night are insanely pretty. I stood standing at my apartment window earlier and it's really one of the prettiest things ever.

By that, I mean Hong Kong. It is by no means average.

The streets are either incredibly clean (think HK drama serials with atas shopping) or incredibly dirty.
The people are either incredibly friendly, or totally uncouth and rude (salespeople have no problems expressing their disgruntlement that you wasted 10minutes of their time without making a purchase)
The apartments are either horribly small, or huge (and the prices are NOT average)
The urban planning, or lack thereof, is below average (think factories and industrial estates amongst residential areas)

I blame Hong Kong dramas for making the country overrated.
Everywhere's dingy, the movies with triads in Mongkok are more realistic.

Aloha! So we've FINALLY arrived at our wonderful internship destination of Honolulu, Hawaii after a grueling (for our butts) 15 hour flight. Thank Goodness! And have checked into our temporary apartments which are kinda cool with all the amenities and the coolest location everrr (5 MINS WALK AWAY FROM WAIKIKI BEACH!) haha.

Here is the things that we have noticed thus far:

1) Eunice is a midget and I'm a kids size.

2) We can finally walk on the streets with our bikinis on and NOT look fat AT ALL.

3) The food portions are HUGE and we are probably going to order 1 meal for 3 meals.

This is like our LEFTOVERS. Can friggin feed 3 people please. :P

4) There are tons of superstars because everywhere we look there are limos.

5) We feel like hugging everyone because they're just ALL too friendly.

See.. The woman took out the THREE pound lobster for us to see! haha.

6) Everyone's probably a closet alcoholic because it's TOO CHEAP.

This is like SG13 bucks. MAD CHEAP!!

7) The sunset is just about the NICEST in the whole world. :)

8) East coast/Siloso beach is NOTHING compared to Waikiki Beach. :P

9) Apartment views are damn damn DAMN important when choosing houses.

10) Eunice needs to jump off the car cos it's too high for her!

So in the first day, we rented an eight-seater Chrysler to go round the city. Checked into the hotel and went to Ala Moana shopping centre (the biggest shopping centre in the city). Had lunch there and omg. WE had mexican food which is HUGEEEE. That one meal could last us the whole day man, so we figured we're gonna share food or cook our own meals when work starts.

Went to the International Market, which is just across the street. Saw many cool performances and had dinner there. The Hawaiian dancers, unlike what we usually expect, don't have very nice figures. It's like feel-good city. Nobody to judge you, nobody to scrutinise your figure. Everyone is beautiful (: People of all sizes walk on the streets with their bikinis and surfboards. Way cool!

On the second day, we went apartment-hunting and found a really nice condo-apartment that overlooks the condo pool and Waikiki Beach. Awesome shizzzzzz! Has twin beds, a living room with TV and all, a fully equipped kitchen and a nice toilet
(JARREL PLEASE DO NOT KILL US).
But it's quite ex, like 1400US/month. So we're gonna try get the best price tomorrow, and hopefully we can get it!

ok i shall just do brief updates before the lengthy essays.

really turbulent flight. but really cool staring at lightning at eye-level
accommodation's really really horrible. currently squeezing in a hotel room with my parents
i'll be sleeping on a doublebed w/ my parents.
ditto the point above.
needa find a new place to rent.
on the bright (and cooling side), hk's weather's lovely.
hong kongers speak canto too quickly to be understood.

tomorrow's gonna be a long and interesting day.
